The company went on to beat budget for the next four consecutive years, delivering
on numbers and fulfilling its potential. The ‘Momentum’ initiative also generated a
significant increase in the number of new products and opportunities for growth.

Client story

Despite reasonable results, a global pharmaceutical company had continuously
missed its targets for five years and was therefore perceived as failing to
deliver.

It wanted to develop and implement a winning culture focused on the behaviours
which drive commercial success, yet clearly grounded in the company’s values. The
aim was to accelerate the company’s growth and strengthen employee engagement,
starting with an initiative that would be launched at its ‘Momentum’ World
Conference.

Telos Partners started by working with the client’s Senior Leadership Team to
identify and define the behaviours that would drive collaboration and develop a
winning culture – namely, ‘Trust and Believe’, ‘Support and Build’ and ‘Step Out and
Speak Up’.

We then helped to establish and support a network of natural influencers – rather
than formal leaders – within the business who would champion living these new
behaviours.

Subsequent world conferences showcased the ‘Momentum’ initiative and the winning
culture. Top stories were featured and excellence recognised with awards.

This activity was supplemented with the launch of a ‘One Global Business’ concept,
alongside the design and delivery of workshops to coach senior teams to move from
a control mindset to one with collaboration at its heart. Levels of engagement were
measured regularly.
