Client story
The MD of the energy division of a global engineering group had become concerned
about a confused organisational structure. Following several acquisitions, he felt
there was little or no accountability for issues that arose, leaving customers confused
about who to talk to.
His attempts to resolve the situation had been frustrated – yet he knew radical
changes had to be made. He wanted to reorganise his business around market-
facing service lines in time to meet a tight strategic planning deadline.
At the heart of the MD’s concern was how to manage the change without losing
some of his key people, whose roles and influence he knew had to significantly
change.
The MD sought our help to create and implement an engagement
programme to bring everyone on board – inspiring and guiding them to
make positive changes to improve business performance together.
Telos Partners’ support started with clearly communicating the case for change. We
worked with the MD and his senior team to understand and develop a compelling
story for the case for change – and started to define the outline of the organisation.
An overall programme to manage the changes followed. We set up a project room,
using visual management to keep the senior team motivated and on track. Risks
were identified and mitigated throughout.
A comprehensive communications and engagement programme ensured all senior
manages whose roles were changing understood the reasons why and had a voice
in the evolution of the changes that affected them.
