The Death of the Black Swan?' is the thought-provoking title of Partners for Leadership's next free webinar – taking place on Wednesday 11 November at 2pm (GMT).

The expert-led 60-minute discussion is the second in Partners for Leadership's new webinar series and, as before, will be delivered with the support of the Telos Partners team.

Booking for the webinar is now open here.

So what is a 'Black Swan'?

The concept of a 'Black Swan' event was popularised by Nassim Nicholas Taleb in 2007 with two characteristics.

First, that it is so rare and outside the realm of expectations that it is unpredictable. Second, that its consequences are either beneficially or (more usually) catastrophically extreme.

Partners for Leadership's free webinar will see Neville Hill and Grant Lewis of Hybrid Economics challenge the contention that businesses should spend time worrying about these ‘Black Swan’ events.

Instead, they should think more about ‘White Swan’ risks – those that are predictable but that will have extreme consequences, such as climate change, demographics and huge government deficits.

Together, Neville and Grant will make the case for planning across all dimensions if an organisation is to sustain over time.
